Get ready for many fun filled events during Barbados Carnival⁄Crop Over. Crop Over starts with the Opening Gala and the Last Canes ceremony and the crowning of the King and Queen of the Festival who are the most productive male and female cane cutters of the season.

Do you want to learn more about Barbados’ culture? Well there are many cultural events during Crop Over. Such as the Historic Bridgetown Heritage Tours & Walks, the Heritage Lectures, the Crop Over Heritage Feast and the Ceremonial Delivery of the last Canes and more.

At the Crop Over Visual Arts Festival you will have the opportunity to see locals exhibiting their beautiful arts and crafts. You will see art and craft from both professionals and amateurs. The annual Read In festival features local and international artist’s. It is spectacular with artist’s using music, dance and visual aids to embellish their spoken word performances.


Barbados Steel Pans

You will find many Steel Pan competitions on the Island during Crop Over. The most popular competitions being, Pan Fusion, Pan In De City and Pan Pun De Sand. Calypso competitions are also popular in Barbados during Crop Over. Each performer is judged during the Pic–O–De–Crop and Party Monarch competitions. Another very popular event during Crop Over is the Soca Royale. The most popular party songs from the tents and airwaves are judged in order to win the coveted title of Party Monarch and Sweet Soca Monarch.


Cohobblopot Barbados

Cohobblopot is a large show with members of the Kadooment bands displaying their beautiful costumes. Expect a large crowd, a great atmosphere and the most popular calypsonians and bands performing when you go.


Junior Kadooment Barbados

Lets not forget the kids! Children also play a big part in the Crop Over celebrations in Barbados. Children participate in the Junior Calypso Monarch. You will also see children parading during The Junior Kadooment parade.

Crop Over Weekend

It’s Carnival time, after the Pic-O-De-Crop Finals on Thursday, there is the four day Carnival (Yes we said FOUR days, so you better have stamina). On Saturday is the islands biggest cultural street fair. Sunday night is the Crop Over Cohobblopot. The islanders are very excited for this event and so will you be! Monday is Grand Kadooment Day/Carnival in Barbados. This is a where the Tune-Of-The-Crop or Road March Song is judged. Be ready to get on bad!
